New Delhi: Moscow Fashion Week successfully concluded, reaffirming its significance as a dynamic and essential platform on the international fashion calendar. The event highlighted Russia’s growing role in global cultural dialogue, featuring collections from designers across 13 countries and promoting meaningful international exchange, particularly with a strong Indian delegation.
Indian Designers Shine
Among the main highlights was the participation of top Indian designers. Renowned brand Shantnu & Nikhil showcased their first all-women couture collection, Armouré, inspired by the 1930s, blending architectural silhouettes with exquisite hand embroidery. Designer Pawan Sachdeva presented his signature urban, refined styles, captivating both young audiences and buyers.
Shantnu and Nikhil Mehra remarked, “Being one of India’s most respected fashion brands, participating in Moscow Fashion Week is an ideal way to present ourselves in the Russian market.”
Russian Talent on Display
The event also provided a major platform for domestic Russian talent. Designers like Ianis Chamalidy, Kisselenko, and Stas Lopatkin showcased innovative collections that combined architectural cuts, cultural influences, and classic tailoring. Emerging brand Vira Plotnikova presented Diva, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern silhouettes.

International Presence and Cultural Exchange
Global runway stars, including Africa’s David Tlale and Turkey’s Emre Erdemoğlu, participated, underscoring Moscow Fashion Week’s global reach. Brazilian designer Mayari Jubini cited inspiration from Russian cinema and sculptural forms, blending modern techniques with refined craftsmanship to create garments that blur the line between reality and the surreal.
BRICS+ Fashion Summit and India’s Participation
The event also hosted the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, one of the largest and most significant business gatherings in the industry. India sent a strong delegation, with Pawan Sachdeva, a member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) Board of Governors, highlighting the role of these events in promoting intercultural exchange, traditional textiles, and indigenous techniques on the global stage.
Moscow Fashion Week and the BRICS+ Summit have firmly established the city as a thriving fashion hub and a center for cultural dialogue, offering Indian and international designers valuable opportunities to showcase talent and strengthen global market connections. The events demonstrated that fashion is truly a universal language that resonates across continents.
